Dr. Connie Erpelding

On Friday, April 3, 2020, Dr. Connie Erpelding was unanimously approved as the new Board Chair for Wesley Seminary.  Dr. Erpelding has served on the Wesley Seminary Board and the Board of Trustees at Indiana Wesleyan University since 2018.  She is a true champion of higher education and has previously worked as both a Principal and a University Professor.

Dr. Colleen Derr, President of Wesley Seminary, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Connie as our Board Chair.  She has been a friend, partner, and strong supporter of Wesley.  This role represents a continuation of her investment in Wesley and a deepening relationship.  I cannot wait to see what the Lord will do through Connie’s inspirational and hopeful leadership!  Welcome, Connie!  You belong here!”

“What a thrill it’s been to have a front row seat cheering on the equipping of Christian leaders to engage in missional ministry,” says Dr. Erpelding.  “I’ve been an enthusiastic fan of Wesley Seminary since my church partnered with them six years ago and have often been heard chanting, ‘We are Wesley and You Belong Here!’  Today, the Board Chair role brings a fresh opportunity to collaborate with an incredible group of individuals as we seek God’s plan to impact local and global theological education.”

Dr. Erpelding is the Director of Advancement at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and is an adjunct professor at Wesley Seminary.  She previously served as the Director of Care and Missions at Prairie Lakes Church and as a professor at the University of Northern Iowa.  She and her husband, Kenneth, live in Waterloo, Iowa.
