Unique to the Wesley Seminary M.Div. curriculum is its interlocking and interrelated content. Bible, theology and church history are integrated throughout the program by being paired with praxis courses. Half of core praxis course work deals directly with biblical, theological and historical outcomes. This interweaving of foundational principles provides the knowledge, skills and dispositions that pastors need and can immediately use in ministry.
Additional exploration of Bible, theology and church history can occur through 15 hours of elective courses. Students seeking to concentrate on a particular field of study can choose from 6 different specializations. During the first three years of the program, students are engaged in a spiritual formation cohort lead by a professor who shepherds the group through a deepening of spiritual maturity.
