Russ Gunsalus

Ministerial and Professional Background
Russ has served as a youth pastor and solo pastor in Kentucky and Washington D.C. He was also resident director and soccer coach at Asbury College. Before coming to IWU Russ served at The Wesleyan Church headquarters in the Local Church Education and Youth Ministry departments. His work there involved national ministry with students, young adults, and Christian education leaders.
Russ has also served as the editor of CLCL magazine, DiscipleNet newsletter and was the managing editor of the Wesleyan commentary series. He has overseen a number of discipleship and Sunday school programs and has been heavily involved in developing Sunday school strategies and training materials for youth ministries. Russ teaches courses in youth ministry, American religious history, as well as general education classes in Philosophy and Bible. He also serves as the coordinator of the Youth Ministries Program, and was the acting Chief Operating Officer for Wesley Seminary for several months.
