Ministerial and Professional Background

Mark has served since 1991 as senior pastor of Hayward Wesleyan Church, a thriving small town congregation in the Wisconsin northwoods. Not only has the congregation grown significantly under his leadership, but it has also multiplied through church planting and revitalization efforts. Well over 1000 people attend their family of six congregations in northwest Wisconsin.

Active in Native American ministry, Mark serves on the Wesleyan Native Board and his congregation partners with The Shack, a missional community on the LCO (Ojibwe) Reservation.

Mark has a special ministry of encouragement to pastors in small communities. He travels widely speaking at retreats, conferences, camp meetings, revivals and other gatherings. He also teaches practical ministry courses through the Wesleyan FLAME program, with a particular emphasis on evangelism and pastoral ministries.

Personal Information

Mark and his wife, Cathy, have five children. His hobbies are fishing, guitar, nature, blogging, and historical research.
