Dr. John Ott
[Lead Pastor, Parkway Wesleyan Church]
Roanoke, Virginia
Dr. John Ott is the Senior Pastor at Parkway Wesleyan Church in Roanoke, Virginia. He grew up in Marion, Indiana, and graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University. He received his Masters of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary, and earned his Doctorate of Ministry from Liberty University.
Pastor John has trained and equipped hundreds of people for personal evangelism and discipleship. His book, “Out From Under the Bushel,” has been used throughout the United States and beyond to mobilize churches for the purpose of reaching their communities for Christ.
On the first Sunday of August 1989, when Pastor John assumed the position of Senior Pastor of Parkway Wesleyan, there were 65 people in morning worship. On March 5, 2006, the first Sunday at their newly constructed campus on an 84-acre mountain overlooking the city, over 2000 people were in attendance. Since then the church has continued to grow as more people find Christ as their Lord and Savior.
As Senior Pastor he is the primary Sunday morning speaker and vision caster. He believes his calling is to build a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, Spirit-filled church that worships God and makes disciples. He loves to bring the scripture alive through practical, life-relevant messages.
He and his wife, Kathy, have three daughters, Stephanie, Lindsey and Alisha.
