Carl Shepherd

Carl Shepherd is Senior Vice President of Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance and has spent his career in the insurance field.

He is a Fellow of Society of Actuaries, the American Academy of Actuaries and the Indianapolis Actuarial Club, for which he is a former president. He is also past president of the Indiana Association of Life Insurance Companies.

For more than 50 years, Carl has attended Trinity Wesleyan Church in Indianapolis, serving in a number of lay capacities.

He is a former member of IWU’s Alumni Association board of directors, serving tenures as president and vice president, and he received the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award. Carl is vice chairman of the board of directors of Wesleyan Investment Foundation, Inc.

He graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University (then Marion College) in 1974 and earned a master’s degree the following year from Ball State University.

The Shepherd family includes his wife, Vicki, and sons Jonathan, Ryan and Stephen.
