Construction has begun on a $7 million building that will house Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University. The building is scheduled to be completed in time for fall 2013 classes.
The two-story building will include 21,000 square feet of floor space for classrooms, faculty offices and a multi-purpose gathering place for students to study and have fellowship. The building will be funded, in part, with a $2.5 million gift from the Green family that owns Hobby Lobby Stores.
The Seminary, which is the first in the history of The Wesleyan Church, offers Master of Arts and Master of Divinity degrees. The MDIV is offered in Spanish and English.
Wesley Seminary at IWU has been housed in the Noggle Christian Ministries Center on the Marion campus.
Although the Seminary is physically located on the IWU campus, its mission is to serve The Wesleyan Church throughout the world. The Seminary will bear a denominational stamp in the form of a rendering of The Wesleyan Church logo in the two-story front window of the new building.
